Opening PGS Mini Boot Camp

Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “ Pacoy” R. Ortega III greets representatives from various Regional line Agencies during the opening of PGS Mini Boot Camp (MBC) on January 29, 2018 at Agora Event Center, Thunderbird Resort, Poro Point, City of San Fernando, La Union.This event aims to strengthen partnership between the PGLU and different Regional line agencies to attain the vision of the province to become the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
In line with strengthening the implementation of the Performance Governance System (PGS), the Provincial Government of La Union led by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III held a three-day Mini Boot Camp from January 29 to January 31, 2018 at the Agora Event Center, Thunderbird Resort, Barangay Poro, City of San Fernando, La Union.
As the host, Governor Pacoy opened the event by focusing on cooperation and collaboration when he said, “As leaders and stakeholders in the growth and development of the Province of La Union, we are all in this together. We will work together. We will unite and converge, our hearts beating and our minds working as one for the Love of La Union, Region 1, and our country, the Philippines.”
The Governor stressed the significance of knowing the role of each other in working in the public sector and seeking the convergence points where each partner agency and Local Government Units may work in productive and harmonious ways in uplifting the quality of life of the people. He said that this Boot Camp is in furtherance of the “beyond business as usual” mindset of Transformative Governance that his administration currently exemplifies in public service.
Through several team building activities, the Boot Camp aims to bolster the relationship among the PGLU, Regional, and Provincial Line Agencies in pursuit of the vision of making La Union the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
The Performance Governance System is a framework that provides precise markers of improvement and quantifiable results as guides in pursuing long term goals. It is based on the best global practices in strategy management adapted by the Provincial Government to help realize the potential of La Union.
