New Officers La Union Hotel Resort and Restaurant Association Take Oath

Officer-in-Charge of the La Union Provincial Tourism Office (LUPTO) Arthur S. Cortez, Jr. administers the oath of responsibility of the new set of LUHRRA officers including Ms. Crestine Lucman as the President; Ms. Ana Grace Sobrevilla as Executive Vice President; Ms. Cheryl Pua Phee as Vice President for Hotel; Ms. Christine Javier as Vice President for Restaurant; Ms. Wilma Adviento as Vice President for Allied; Ms. Sherry Ann Tavas as Secretary; Ms. Rowena Navarro as Treasurer and Ms. Shyr Amphaguey as Auditor; Mr. Robert Ranchez, Mr. Mariano Florentino and Mr. Filemon Dines as Directors; and Mr. Cesar Ocampo as Immediate Past President on March 18, 2021 at P&M Final Option Beach Resort and German Bistro, San Juan, La Union.
Strictly observing the minimum public health standards, owners and managers of hotels, resorts and restaurants in the province gathered at P&M Final Option Beach Resort and German Bistro, San Juan, La Union on March 18, 2021 to witness the induction of new set of officers for the La Union Hotel Resort and Restaurant Association (LUHRRA). Mr. Cesar D. Ocampo, Sr., the outgoing president of LUHRRA, turned over his responsibilities to Ms. Crestine P. Lucman was elected as the new president.

Cortez, Jr. administered the oath of responsibility of the new set of officers which included Ms. Ana Grace Sobrevilla as Executive Vice President; Ms. Cheryl Pua Phee as Vice President for Hotel; Ms. Christine Javier as Vice President for Restaurant; Ms. Wilma Adviento as Vice President for Allied; Ms. Sherry Ann Tavas as Secretary; Ms. Rowena Navarro as Treasurer; and Ms. Shyr Amphaguey as Auditor. Inducted as Directors were Mr. Robert Ranchez, Mr. Mariano Florentino and Mr. Filemon Dines with Mr. Cesar Ocampo as Immediate Past President.
The new set of officers pledged to faithfully serve as officers of the association and will do the best of their abilities, to serve as a living example of the organization’s philosophy and beliefs and will uphold and enforce the constitution of the organization at all times.
The ceremony was also attended by former president of LUHRRA, Atty. Rodolfo Yabes who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker and talked on revisiting the past to recreate for a better future. In his inspirational message, Atty. Yabes drew emphasis on reviving travel and tourism and encouraged the officers and members to continue working hand-in-hand in order to attain a sustainable future amidst the pandemic.
Newly proclaimed president Ms. Lucman also reinforced the importance of cooperation in her acceptance speech. She stated that she is there not to lead but rather to provide a direction as all officers and members are leaders in their own rights. She added that she is excited to plan for future projects of the organization and to work with the Provincial Government of La Union and other tourism organizations in promoting La Union and attaining its vision to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon in 2025.
LUHRRA is a non-profit organization representing the business sector in the hotel, resort, restaurant and suppliers (allied) industry of La Union that will work closely with LUPTO and other tourism-related groups to advance tourism in La Union and foster unity in the industry. It seeks to establish active relations not only with the public institutions, but also with non-government organizations, associations and other actors in the tourism sector.
