NDH Biriteras Secure 2nd Place in Birit Lung Contest

Displaying their vocal prowess, talented employees of Naguilian District Hospital (NDH) proved that talent is beyond healthcare services after securing 2nd place in the Birit Lung Contest organized by the La Union Medical Society Foundation Inc. (LUMS). The event took place during LUMS' Gala Night on August 30, 2023, at J&V Resort Hotel, Sevilla City, San Fernando, La Union.
The Birit Lung Contest, an annual singing competition organized by LUMS, serves as a platform for both private and government hospitals across La Union to showcase their vocal abilities. The event not only fosters camaraderie among healthcare professionals but also provides an opportunity to channel their creativity and talent beyond the medical field.
The NDH Biriteras consisted of Dr. Diana Jean Escalo, Ms. Maricris Mckeehan, Ms. Vinez B. Flores, Ms. Nerissa P. Chan, Ms. Philline Rillera, and Ms. Jingzzie Estocapio. These dedicated employees of NDH poured their heart and soul into their performances, impressing the judges and securing 2nd place.
Aside from said vocal competition, a series of mini-symposia focusing on critical healthcare topics such as bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), smoking and vaping, pneumonia, and tuberculosis (TB) was also conducted during the Gala Night.
The success of NDH Biriteras in the Birit Lung Contest serves as a testament to the
talents of healthcare workers in La Union. While their primary focus remains on saving lives and delivering quality patient care, they have demonstrated that their abilities extend far beyond the confines of the hospital walls.
As NDH continues to excel in both healthcare and extracurricular activities. The achievements of NDH Biriteras are a source of pride not only for the hospital but also for the entire Provincial Government of La Union community.
