NDH ADOLESCENT FRIENDLY HEALTH COMMITTEE CONDUCTS OUTREACH PROGRAM

The Naguilian District Hospital Adolescent Friendly Health Committee (NDH-AFHC) in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare of Bauang, La Union, conducted an outreach program to the officers and members of PAG-ASA YOUTH ASSOCIATION (PYA) of Payocpoc Norte Oeste Bauang, La Union on September 18, 2019.

The PYA is an association of the out of school youth and teenage parents in Bauang La Union.

Medical Officer III Dr. Cherrymae Belarmino conducted a lecture on Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) to educate the youth on how to avoid acquiring HIV. Nurse II Ms. Jennifer Gapasin informed the participants about the Smoking Cessation clinic of NDH. She gave a lecture on the negative effects of smoking and tips to quit it.

Team building activities were prepared to immerse the officers and members of the organization to embody their goals.

Before the outreach ended, NDH Dentist Dr. Caroll Fe G. Caluza spearheaded a free dental consultation and lecture on proper brushing of teeth. Check up and counseling of pregnant teens in the barangay was also conducted.

The outreach program was part of promotional campaign of NDH Adolescent Clinic to inform and reach to patients.
