Naguilian District Hospital Promotes Disability Prevention, Rehab

Naguilian District Hospital Adolescent-Friendly Health (NDH-AFH) Team conducts medical and dental check-up to over 139 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) during the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Naguilian’s 41st National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week (NDPR) Celebration on July 18, 2019 at the Naguilian Civic Center, Naguilian, La Union.

Naguilian District Hospital Adolescent-Friendly Health (NDH-AFH) Team, in partnership with JCI Naguilian Basi Chapter, took part in the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Naguilian’s 41st National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week (NDPR) Celebration on July 18, 2019 at the Naguilian Civic Center, Naguilian, La Union.

Over 139 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), mostly adolescents, availed of the free services offered during the celebration which were medical and dental check-up and haircut.

Ms. Rosario F. Borgonia from NDH conducted a lecture on Adolescent Nutrition. She educated the participants on Developing Healthy Eating Habits. On her lecture, she also talked about the program objectives of NDH-AFH Clinic which includes healthy development, healthy nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, reduction of substance use, reduction of all forms of violence, reduction of injuries, and mental health.

A story telling activity was also conducted to children aged 4-10 years old followed by a gift-giving activity.

To end the event, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed by representatives form NDH, JCI and LGU Naguilian strengthening their partnership.
