Municipal Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives, Indigenous Peoples Officers of La Union pay courtesy visit to Gov. Rafy

The Municipal Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives (IPMRs) and Indigenous Peoples Officers (IPOs) of La Union paid a courtesy visit to Governor Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David on August 18, 2022 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The very young and energetic Governor expressed her appreciation for the IP sector’s significant contributions for the province’s accomplishments and confirmed her full support to the IP sector.
Also discussed was the identification of the needed indigenous musical instruments which will then be provided to the IP cultural communities with the aim to promote, preserve and pass on traditional knowledge and practices to the next generation.
Together with the group were Ms. Salud Umaybas-Halog from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) and Ms. Mixico V. Dulay, the province’s IP Consultant.
