Lakbay Norte Media Tour 9 delegates strike a pose together with the Officers of the La Union Conventions and Visitors Bureau during Media Familiarization Tour in La Union on January 28, 2020. The Lakbay Norte is an annual media familiarization tour that aims to introduce various travel destinations in Northern Philippines to media groups in hopes of boosting North Luzon as a top destination choice.

The Provincial Government of La Union headed by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III supported the ninth year of Lakbay Norte La Union leg, as media representatives and bloggers visited the province’s major tourist attractions on January 28-30, 2020.

Around 40 participants took part in the free tour, which aimed to gather the country’s biggest influencers on television, broadsheets, magazines and blog to experience the best of the B.E.S.T (Buys, Eats, Stays, Trys) of North Luzon.

The media familiarization tour was organized by the North Philippines Visitors Bureau, in partnership with Victory Liner, Inc., La Union Conventions and Visitors Bureau (LUCVB) and Pangasinan Convention and Visitors Board.

Taking the tour were Tuguegarao bloggers, Business Mirror, Cignal TV, Eats in The Philippines/Mujee Gonzales WordPress, EAZY Traveler, Kapampangan Traveller, Karla Around the World/Hungry Travel Duo, Kiko Rustia Vlog/10DaysNorth, Lost Juan, Out of Town Blog/Just Wandering, PEP.ph, Philippine Beaches & Beyond, The Pinoy Traveler/Pinoy Manila, The Poor Traveler, Spot.ph, Turista Boy, and When In Manila.

They visited and experienced Eco-Fun World in Agoo; Grape-picking and wine tasting in Bauang; Lotus Farm, Pottery Making and Surfing in San Juan; Ma-Cho Temple, Pindangan Ruins and La Union Agri-Tourism Center in San Fernando; and the honey and silk production centers in Bacnotan.

The LUCVB is a non-profit and non-stock organization dedicated to support and promote tourism in La Union. They are composed of restaurants, accommodation establishments, and other frontline tourism entities.

NPVB Executive Director Rhycel T. Marcelo-Monserrate said the tour participants are expected to publish their experiences in the La Union tour in their respective publications or platforms by summer time.
