The La Union Medical Center Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) conducted its first ever Opening of Bids on December 19, 2018 at the Dr. Eufranio “Franny” C. Eriguel Memorial Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

A total of 36 companies joined the said activity for the procurement, supply and delivery of the following: Laboratory Supplies, X-Ray supplies, Drugs and Medicines (Regular & Retail) and Medical and Surgical Supplies (Regular & Retail).

Created and approved by LUMC’s Board of Trustees on November 14, 2018, the BAC piloted a Pre-Bid Conference on December 9, 2018 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union through the assistance of Atty. Dominique Jose Puzon, Provincial BAC Chairperson and Engr. Robert Lelina, Chairman of the Provincial BAC Secretariat.

“We’ve created the Bids and Awards Committee to hasten the procurement of drugs, medicines, X-ray, laboratory, surgical and all other supplies the hospital needs for its day to day operations,” said Dr. Glenn Ernest M. Fonbuena, LUMC’s Chief Executive Officer and BAC Chairperson during the Pre-Bid Conference.

Focused on making medical services more accessible to the people, this streamlined procurement process paves the way towards Gov. Pacoy’s goal for the province of a “Healthy La Union, Happy La Union by 2022.”
