LU SP Prepares Legislative Agenda (MEMBERS OF SANGGUNIANG PANLALAWIGAN)

Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan work on their output during one of the workshop activities of the Focus Group Discussion Session to formulate the Legislative Agenda held on September 16, 2019 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol.
As input for the formulation of the Legislative Agenda, Vice Gov. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega, together with the members of the 22nd Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) underwent a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on September 16, 2019 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol of La Union.
The said FGD was held to serve as venue for the Vice Governor and the SP members to describe and analyze the social, economic and physical conditions and trends of the province which will also serve as their basis for identification of their appropriate programs, projects and activities (PPAs) and legislative measures that are directly aligned to the vision of the province.
Ms. Michaela Louise Delfinado, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator and Ms. Agnes Cargamento, Senior Consultant to the Office of the Governor for Local Governance and Development Management facilitated the session which was divided into four workshop activities which were: Current Reality Discussion; Visioning Effective Legislative Framework; Strategic Setting of Legislative Thrusts of Committee; and Identifying of Legislative Department’s Capability Development Requirements.
The results of the Focus Group Discussion will be synthesized per sector (Financial Stability, Economic Dynamism and Competitiveness, Resilient Communities, Organizational Accountability and Governance) and will be presented during the Legislative Agenda formulation which will be on September 24-26, 2019 at Quest Hotel, Clark, Pampanga. The Legislative Agenda that will be approved by the SP will be integrated with the Executive Agenda to come up with the Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) – which will guide the Governor, Vice Governor and SP Members as well as the different work units and the departments of the Provincial Government of La Union in the development of the province for 2019-2020.
