LU PROVINCIAL BOARD SUPPORTS BILL INSTITUTIONALIZING MALASAKIT CENTER

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of La Union passed a resolution supporting the bill institutionalizing the establishment of Malasakit Centers, which are "one-stop shops" that hasten the delivery of healthcare assistance to the poor making quality healthcare more affordable and accessible to them.
Board Member (BM) Jennifer C. Mosuela sponsored the resolution which was supported by the whole members of the SP.
Authored by Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, the bill would involve the Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Philhealth and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
BM Mosuela said that the health sector is one of the priority programs of the Provincial Government of La Union under the leadership of Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” Ortega III. She said that once the bill becomes a law, many of our constituents will benefit from the fast delivery of basic health services.
