LU GUIDES NOW A MEMBER OF TGFED

Mr. Albert Gadia, president of Philippine Federation of Professional Tour Guides, Inc. (TGFED) administers the oath of membership of the Association of Active Tour Guides of La Union (ASTG-LU) held at Albay Astrodome, Legazpi City, Albay on June 17, 2019. TGFED is an organization composed of Tour Guide Associations from the entire country.
The Association of Active Tour Guides of La Union (ASTG-LU) took oath as one of the newest members of the Philippine Federation of Professional Tour Guides, Inc. (TGFED) on the third day of the 10th National Tourism Convention and General Assembly on June 15 – 17, 2019 at Albay Astrodome, Legazpi City, Albay.
The Provincial Government of La Union headed by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III supported the participation of 17 members of AsTG-LU in said event.
The event, conducted by the Philippine Federation of Professional Tour Guide Associations (TGFED) in partnership with the Bicol Tour Guides Association Inc., was attended by delegates from various travel and tour agencies and tour guides association from different regions all over the country.
TGFED membership and procedure was presented by Mr. Manu Del Rosario, TGFED Vice President for Luzon as part of the convention. Different speakers also joined the said event to discuss various topics relevant to tour guiding and tourism promotions.
The participants had a tree planting activity at Kawa-Kawa Lake in City of Ligao, visited the historic Cagsawa Ruins and experienced the ATV ride in Daraga. They also dropped by the Sumlang Lake to look over the majestic view of the Mayon Volcano.
During the Governor’s Night, participants wore their regional attire depicting their regions’ culture. They were also welcomed by Provincial Tourism, Culture and the Arts Officer Ms. Dorothy F. Colle. Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara also emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism.
The convention, with the theme, “Filipino Tour Guide, A Decade of Intensity and Resiliency,” made a clear visualization on proper management and protection of the booming tourism industry of La Union.
