LU DISTRICT HOSPITALS UPGRADE SERVICES THROUGH ISO 9001:2015 REFRESHER COURSE

REFRESHER COURSE ON ISO 9001:2015. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Eduardo S. Posadas encourages the participants to continuously improve hospital services through the implementation of the International Organization Standardization (ISO) for Quality Management System on August 7, 2019 during the first day of the ISO 9001:2015 Refresher Course Training for Internal Auditors held at Caba District Hospital Conference Hall, Caba, La Union. The said activity was participated in by the five La Union District Hospitals (DHs) namely Bacnotan DH, Balaoan DH, Caba DH, Naguilian DH, and Rosario DH.
Internal auditors from the five District Hospitals (DH) in La Union namely Bacnotan DH, Balaoan DH, Caba DH, Naguilian DH and Rosario DH attended the two-day International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Refresher Course Training for Internal Auditors held at Caba District Hospital Conference Hall, Caba, La Union on August 7-8, 2019.
La Union DHs Lead auditor Dr. Gretchen F. Aromin opened the program by acknowledging the participants. Meanwhile, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Eduardo S. Posadas in his welcome remarks inspired the participants to continuously improve the hospital services through the implementation of the ISO Quality Management System (QMS). He encouraged the DHs to work as one to provide Quality Health care services. “If each employee is able to contribute one idea, there would be greater ideas towards improvement of health services,” he said.
Mr. Deck Vinluan, Senior Consultant of the Macro Vision Training and Consultancy started the training by discussing the course objectives. He also discussed the ISO 9001:2015 Standards that requires the organization to conduct internal audit at planned intervals to provide information on whether QMS confirms to the organization’s own requirements, the requirement of International Standards and if it is effectively implemented and maintained.
Principles of auditing, kind and types of audit, auditor’s qualification, auditing skills, effective implantation of audit programs and the audit process were also discussed.
ISO 9001:2015 Internal Audit aims to ensure the compliance to the requirements of internal and international standards and regulation, customer requirements, effectiveness of the implemented system in meeting objectives, explore opportunities for improvement, meet statutory and regulatory requirements and to provide feedback to the Provincial Governor.
All five DHs are BS EN ISO 9001:2015 Accredited issued by National Quality Assurance on November 15, 2017 valid until November 15, 2020. The certification is applicable for the provision of Health Care Services including Inpatient, Out-patient, emergency, diagnostics and Laboratory.
