It all started with a burning desire to spark positive change in people’s lives through her work.
“It was my parents who influenced me to become who I am today.” She recalls guiding extraordinary children in their early years, “naaalala ko dati nagko-crawl lang sila dito sa classroom ngayon malalaki na sila” and raising them to become competent and skilled individuals who are ready to take on life’s multitude of challenges
“We have raised children who shine in different fields like self-help skills, arts, and sports. With the help of our Provincial Government and other sponsors, our talented student athletes have already competed internationally and brought home glory for our province. Modifying the behavior of my students is not easy. It takes a lot of effort, time, understanding and patience.”
The journey may have been challenging, but it has brought her and her students joy and fulfillment.
She is Milagros Oligo, a Special Education (SPED) Teacher, and she will never get tired of creating an avenue for extraordinary children in La Union to grow and succeed. She dreams of a La Union that provides equal opportunities for everyone to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.
We, at the Provincial Government, continue to provide support to uplift the quality of life and secure a bright future for our children.
