LEGISLATION ON QUARRYING APPROVED, CASCADED. In an effort to promote responsible mining in the province, the Provincial Government of La Union, through the Provincial Government - Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) and Provincial Treasurer’s Office, conducted a Cascading Session of the newly-approved Provincial Ordinance No. 274-2021, an ordinance regulating the extraction, disposition, utilization and processing of quarry and other mineral resources within the territorial jurisdiction of the Province of La Union and imposing various taxes and fees on April 29-30, 2021 via videoconferencing.
Present during the cascading session were the La Union Anti-Illegal Quarrying Task Force members, permit holders of the 1st and 2nd district of La Union, and local government units representatives. The said meeting was presided by EnP. Annalyn Rosario-Valdez, Supervising Environmental Management Specialist of PG-ENRO.
