League of Municipal Treasurers in LU holds its 3rd Quarter Meeting

The League of Municipal Treasurers of La Union, headed by the President, Ms. Grace Teresita G. Viray of Rosario, and Ms. Janet D. Molina, Provincial Treasurer, conducted its 3rd Quarter Meeting on August 11, 2021 via Zoom video conferencing.
The meeting highlighted its moving forward plans and strategies in preparation for the Compromise Agreement Program on Real Property Tax Delinquencies (RPTD) to encourage delinquent taxpayers to voluntarily settle their unpaid obligations and thus, ease their burden of incurring higher interest rates of delinquent taxes. The terms and conditions to be proposed to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan were discussed and finalized for enactment of an Ordinance.
Moreover, the updates on Revenue Collection, progress on the implementation of the electronic Real Property Tax System (eRPTS)- Treasury Module, the Devolution Transition Plan, and the RA11569 Estate Tax Amnesty were also tackled.
The League also awarded Certificates of Recognition to the retiring Municipal Treasurers of Aringay and Bacnotan namely Ms. Erlinda Frigillana and Ms. Jocelyn Estandian respectively. Likewise, Posthumous Awards were given to Ms. Corazon S. Arciaga, Assistant Municipal Treasurer of Balaoan, and Mr. Armando N. Lomboy, Acting Municipal Treasurer of Luna, for their relentless leadership and commitment in serving their respective municipalities and our beloved Province of La Union.
Despite the protocols brought by the pandemic, this activity strengthened the partnership of the PTO and its partner offices to plan and create strategies to improve their collection efficiency to better provide fiscal support in the implementation of its program, projects, and activities.
