In celebration of the Tourism Month this September, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office (LUPTO) – Tourism Operations Unit organized a quiz competition dubbed as "Ammom Kadi? La Union Tourism Quiz Bee" on September 15, 2023. The event, held at the Bayview Hall, Provincial Legislative Building, marked the start of a month-long celebration aimed at showcasing the province's culture and tourist attractions.

The quiz competition featured 18 elementary schools, 20 secondary schools, and seven tertiary institutions, challenging participants' knowledge of local history, culture, and tourist spots. It also served as a platform for participants to deepen their understanding of their province and foster a sense of pride and ownership in promoting local tourism.

On behalf of Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, La Union Provincial Tourism Officer Arthur S. Cortez, Jr., delivered a message and urged everyone to remember their role as agents in promoting tourism. He stressed the importance of involving academia in tourism-related events and encouraged green tourism investments.

The winners of the quiz bee, including San Fernando South Central Integrated School, Porporiket Elementary School, Caba Central Elementary School, Don Eufemio F. Eriguel Memorial National High School, Regional Science High School, Damortis National High School, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - Mid La Union Campus, Saint Louis College, and Lorma Colleges will be officially recognized during the La Union Tourism Summit on September 29, 2023.

The La Union Tourism Month Celebration is a testament to the province's commitment to strengthening its tourism industry. By kicking off the event with a Quiz Competition, the province has set the tone for a celebration that is not only fun and exciting but also informative and meaningful.
