LA UNION SP CONDUCTS MARATHON COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Gary N. Pinzon tackles matters referred to his Committees namely Committee on Disaster Preparedness and Management and Relief Services and Committee on Housing, Land Use and Relocation during the Marathon Committee Meetings on June 10, 2019 at Aureo Resort and Hotel, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Two weeks before the term of the 21st Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) ends, marathon Committee Meetings were conducted to discuss all pending matters which have been referred to the various SP Committees on June 10 -11, 2019 at Aureo Hotel and Resort, City of San Fernando, La Union.
A total of 15 Committees tackled 275 items which include municipal/city ordinances, privilege speeches, and proposed resolutions and ordinances. Among the legislative measures that were discussed and recommended for their approval were Health and Wellness Ordinance for the Provincial Government of La Union employees; La Union Pride Day; Anti-Discrimination Ordinance; Institutionalization of the Bougainvillea Show; and Ordinance approving the Fair Market Value of all Real Properties and the Administrative Code of La Union.
Proposed actions on the matters were recommended through Committee Reports which were submitted and considered during the SP’s Regular Session on the same day.
After the marathon Committee Meetings, it is expected to have a smoother and more orderly transition and turn-over to the next SP.
