La Union Provincial Officials Take Oath

CONTINUING THE TRANSFORMATIVE GOVERNANCE. Elected Provincial Officials of La Union take oath before Punong Barangay President, Geraldine R. Ortega during the Inauguration Program today, June 25, 2019 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Among the officials who took oath were Gov. Francisco Emmanuel "Pacoy" R. Ortega III; Vice Gov. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega; First District Board Members Francisco Paolo P. Ortega V, Jonathan Justo A. Orros, Gary N. Pinzon, Jennifer C. Mosuela, and Gerard G. Ostrea; and Second District Board Members Nancy Corazon M. Bacurnay, Maria Annabelle S. De Guzman, Christian I. Rivera, Frank O. Sibuma, and Abraham P. Rimando.

The officials who took oath were Gov. Francisco Emmanuel "Pacoy" R. Ortega III; Vice Gov. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega; First District Board Members Francisco Paolo P. Ortega V, Jonathan Justo A. Orros, Gary N. Pinzon, Jennifer C. Mosuela, and Gerard G. Ostrea; and Second District Board Members Nancy Corazon M. Bacurnay, Maria Annabelle S. De Guzman, Christian I. Rivera, Frank O. Sibuma, and Abraham P. Rimando.
In his inauguration speech, Gov. Pacoy highlighted all the achievements of the Provincial Government of La Union in his first term. He also expressed his gratitude to all who believed in his leadership and said “I am extremely grateful to be accorded a new mandate as we move forward in our commitment of transformation and reformation.”
Vice Gov. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega expressed his gladness and excitement to be back in capitol in his inauguration speech. "I hope that I will be a big plus to whatever our present administration has been doing fine and well," he said.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Director James F. Fadrilan congratulated all the elected officials and challenged them to remain accountable to the people of La Union. “Together we will push harder and further to attain our vision of becoming the region’s Agri-Tourism hub,” he said.
As a sign of the closing of the leadership of the outgoing provincial officials, Gov. Pacoy turned over the accomplishment report and transition documents of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) for the term 2016-2019 to DILG Regional Director Fadrilan and DILG Provincial Director Paulino G. Lalata, Jr.. This is in compliance to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2019-39.
Present to witness the event were officials of the National, Regional and Provincial Offices; family members of the elected officials; and PGLU Department and Unit heads, Hospital chiefs and employees.
The sending off of outgoing Vice Gov. Aureo Augusto Q. Nisce and outgoing Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members (SPMs) followed in the afternoon. The officials will take their post on July 1, 2019.
Most of the members of the 22nd Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) were also members of the 21st SP. They are SPMs Ortega, Orros, Pinzon, Bacurnay, De Guzman, Rivera and Ex-Officio BMs Geraldine R. Ortega and Alyssa Kristine B. Sibuma who are now joined by Vice Gov. Mario and SPMs Mosuela, Ostrea, Sibuma, and Rimando.
