In a conscious effort to foster partnerships, promote local products, and improve the overall tourism sector, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), in collaboration with the Department of Tourism Region 1, joined the Mindanao Tourism Expo 2024 on April 26-29, 2024 at the Limketkai Mall Center Atrium, Cagayan De Oro, Misamis Oriental.
The Mindanao Tourism Expo is one of the biggest travel and tourism events in Mindanao hosted by DOT Region 10. It is a gathering of DOT Regional Offices, Local Government Units, Tour Operators, Airline and Transportation Companies, Tourism Properties, Food and Beverage Establishments, and Accommodation Establishments showcasing Mindanao culture and tourism treasures with a vision of boosting the country’s tourism and travel industry.
The expo includes destination marketing, business-to-business intervention with private tourism stakeholders, travel deals, and a showcase of products to boost the local economy. PGLU utilized this platform and brought LUcal tourism offerings, attractions, and products to the Mindanao market — with the goal of introducing them at a national scale.
Through tourism opportunities, such as the Mindanao Tourism Expo, and a greater observance of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan , PGLU, led by Governor Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, remains steadfast in securing the province’s future of being a haven of cultural heritage and the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
