La Union holds 1st LUTODA Friendship Cup

Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Ms. Myrna Picazo talked about the role of sports in team building during the La Union Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (LUTODA) Basketball Friendship Cup on October 6, 2018 at the Covered Court of Brgy. Poro, San Fernando City, La Union. LUTODA is one of the Rural-based Organizations of La Union under the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.
One of the Rural-based Organizations of La Union under the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, La Union Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (LUTODA), held its first ever Basketball Friendship Cup on October 6 and 7, 2018 at the Covered Court of Brgy. Poro, San Fernando City, La Union.
To promote unity and cooperation among the tricycle operators and drivers of La Union, six clustered teams competed in the two-day activity using knockout system of elimination. Group 1 was composed of San Juan and Bacnotan TODA; Group 2 was composed of Sudipen, Bangar and Luna TODA; Group 3 was composed of San Gabriel, Santol and Balaoan TODA; Group 4 was composed of Bauang, Naguilian, Bagulin and Burgos TODA; Group 5 comprised of Agoo, Aringay and Caba TODA; and Group 6 was composed of Pugo, Sto. Tomas, Tubao and Rosario TODA.
A program led by LUTODA President, Mr. Juan O. Dacanay, LUTODA’s focal person Mr. Francisco B. Reyes, Jr. and Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Ms. Myrna Picazo kicked off the tournament. Board Members Carlo Castor U. Concepcion of the First District of La Union and Maria Annabelle S. De Guzman of the Second District of La Union sponsored and graced the event.
The Agoo-Aringay-Caba bags the championship and was awarded P6,000.00 cash and trophy while the Sudipen-Bangar-Luna TODA landed as first runner up and received P4,000.00 cash and trophy. Bauang-Naguilian-Bagulin-Burgos TODA also took home P2,000.00 cash and trophy for being the second runner-up.
Conrad Mangaoang of the Agoo-Aringay-Caba TODA was named Finals Most Valuable Player. He received a medal, trophy, and cash prize worth P500.00.
