La Union Enhances Employment Facilitation Programs

To enhance the delivery of employment facilitation services in the province, the Provincial Government of La Union, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) – La Union, hosted the review of the Annual PESO Performance Report during the first monthly meeting of the Provincial, City and Municipal PESOs on January 24, 2020 at the La Union Provincial Administrative Commercial Building, Quezon Ave., City of San Fernando, La Union.
Department of Labor and Employment – La Union Field Office (DOLE – LUFO) Officers and 14 PESO Managers and staff were present in the meeting. DOLE–LUFO Veronica A. Corsino presented the Annual PESO Performance Report for CY 2019 which was based on the report submitted by the PESO-La Union.
The report showed 19,284 jobseekers were given employment and 415 students were employed to the different the Local Government Units LGUs and private establishments in the province of La Union through the Special Program for the Education of Students. 382 beneficiaries were provided livelihood assistance through the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program and 2,784 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers beneficiaries were provided 10 to 30 day temporary employment.
Ms. Corsino encouraged the PESO Managers to fortify their active participation in the promotion and implementation of various DOLE programs and services for continuous improvements contributory to the attainment of targets in the employment program facilitation.
