La Union celebrated the 2018 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Development Week at the La Union Agri-Tourism Center on July 17, 2018. Said Celebration aims to capacitate people who wanted to learn how to start up their own business and become an entrepreneur.
Mr. Julius Manabat of the Provincial Information and Tourism Office relayed Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III’s message to the participants. In said message of the governor, he thanked MSMED Council Chairperson John Y. Chan and emphasized the key role of MSMEs in the provincial development strategy and vision to transform La Union to become the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
Also, Gov. Pacoy hopes that the celebration will inspire more cooperatives to begin and grow across all communities within La Union and that the people will realize the full potential of La Union’s agricultural industries, abundant rural resources and the natural beauty of the province’s vast countryside to be driving local economic development and inclusive growth.
The celebration of MSMED Week 2018 is meant to bring focus and attention to the good work and impact on La Union’s MSMEs and how businessmen from La Union could strengthen and expand the benefits they provide for the people and province.
In the capacity training for business owners, Department of Trade and Industry’s “7Ms” and Models of Negosyo were tackled. Said celebration also offered the participants with free pampering services such as manicure, pedicure and body massage after the program
