La Union Agricultural Interventions Empower Farmers and Coops Associations

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, conducted a ceremonial turn-over of various Agricultural Interventions funded by RA 7171 at the PGLU New Motorpool Building, Barangay Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.

In a remarkable effort to support and empower local farmers, a distribution of essential agricultural interventions amounting to Php 26.6 Million was allocated for different Farmers and Cooperatives Associations (FCAs) in the Province of La Union.

A total of 21,634 bags of Organic Fertilizers; 8,610 hybrid seeds; and 460 tools and farm equipment to FCAs.
Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David said that the intervention is a big help to farmers and to improve the quality of crops in the province. She added that the activity is one of the testaments of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan. “With our strong collaborations with the Department of Agriculture and Local Government Units, we were able to help our farmers here in La Union. That's why you can expect that we will continue our commitment to Agriculture and the livelihood of our farmers here in the province,” says Gov. Rafy.

The PGLU continues to support the agricultural sector in the province, by supporting the different programs, projects, and activities of the OPAG that will contribute to attaining the vision of the province to position La Union as The Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
