La Union remains Low Risk or under Modified General Community Quarantine as reported during the joint meeting of the Provincial Core Team Against CoViD-19 (PCTAC) and the Governorโs Cabinet on November 8, 2021 conducted virtually. Following the status, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), led by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel โPacoyโ R. Ortega III, plans to reintegrate more Recovery Programs.
With the current 864 active cases in the province as of November 6, 2021, this shows a downtrend that can be attributed with the increased inoculated kaprobinsiaan with 50.23% vaccinated with first dose and 33.78% fully vaccinated. This trend gives a positive assurance that by the end of November, 70% of the eligible population will receive their first dose and by the end of the year, 70% will be fully vaccinated.
The PGLU continues to build and improve CoViD-19 isolation facilities in Naguilian, Rosario, and Balaoan District Hospitals to better cater to CoViD-19 patients of the province.
The recently-conducted Safety Seal Validation of the Department of the Interior and Local Government for four PGLU Buildings was also tackled including the recommendations and the schedule of assessment of other PGLU Buildings and Facilities. The Safety Seal awarding for the first four PGLU Buildings is scheduled on November 15. The CoViD-19 Supply Inventory, Status of Personal Protective Equipment Distribution, Welfare Goods, Relief Operations for Typhoon Maring and Status of Purchases were also reported.
Updates on the aids provided for those affected by Severe Tropical Storm Maring was also reported in the meeting wherein a total of P42,470,922.00 cost of assistance were provided to affected kaprobinsiaan. Proposed Rehabilitation plans were also presented including Emergency Shelter Assistance, Cash for Work and Food for Work.
The Tourism Statistics shows that with a total of 223 total accredited tourism entities as of September 20, 2021, there are 25,446 total number of tourist arrival. This is supported by the consistently increasing number of vaccinated tourism frontliners which is at 57.50% as of September 29. Initial proposals of Recovery Programs such as the IBTURISMO and Pasko sa Kapitolyo 2021 were also discussed.
In terms of Financial Stability, reported were Fund Balances, Budgetary Requirements and Expenditures along with COVID-19 Status of Purchase Request and Obligation Request.
To ensure non-violence of any COMELEC Issuances by the PGLU or any employee, reminders on Election Ban for some activities was also tackled in the joint meeting.
Finally, for the Provincial Strategy Update, an overview of the Breakthrough Matrix, Remaining Activities for 2021, Revalida Workplan and Plans Moving Forward were presented.
Through regular joint meetings of the PCTAC and the Cabinet, Gov. Pacoy ensures that we are on top of the situation to ensure the safety of all kaprobinsiaan.
