Gov. Rafy welcomes Officials from National Government Agencies, students from LUCI

In a series of courtesy calls on October 3, 2023, Gov. Rafy Ortega-David welcomed officials from national government agencies as they affirmed their commitment to align their programs to the thrusts of La Union PROBINSYAnihan.
Gov. Rafy welcomed the new director of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Region 1 Florante Nisperos; the new Assistant Regional Director of the Department of Education Region 1 Rhoda Razon; and the Acting Branch Manager of the National Food Authority (NFA) Region 1 Rhoderick Fernandez.
The BJMP thanked the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) for its impactful initiatives to support persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) by providing them training and livelihood which shall aid them in their eventual social integration. The Deped also expressed gratitude to PGLU for its support to the rollout of the Matatag curriculum, where La Union was chosen as one of the seven pilot areas in the country because of the institutional readiness of schools in the province. NFA commended the initiative of Gov. Rafy to provide P20 Million subsidy to support local rice retailers affected by the price cap on regular and well-milled rice.
Math and science wizards from La Union Cultural Institute (LUCI) also paid a courtesy call with Gov. Rafy as they proudly shared their achievement as champions in the Siam International Math and Science Olympics (SIMSO) International Round held in Bangkok, Thailand in August 2023.
Extremely proud of their feat, Gov. Rafy emphasized that these accolades of the young learners are instrumental in shaping them as leaders of the future. She congratulated the LUCI students Sean Gabriel Soriano, Jaylyn Cherichbelle Go, Benedict Seth Milano, Reine Alyss Refuerzo, Dylan Ezeckiel Mendoza, Dylan Rafael Hao, Jayden Zurich Go, and Jarred Zedrich Go; another LUCI champion, Precious Ashley De Leon, took victory in another competition, the Hippo-Language Olympiad in Malaysia.
