Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega welcomed the PNP and introduced the Guest of Honor and Speaker, Police Chief Supt. Rhodel O. Sermonia, head of the PNP Community Relations Group. He also thanked the Ganda Pulis 2018 candidates for making the Monday flag raising ceremony brighter.

In his speech, Sermonia highlighted Ganda Pulis 2018 advocacy on Recovery and Wellness Program for Drug Surrenderees. He encouraged all government offices and multisectoral community to help turn drug surrenderees into productive members of the society.

Sermonia explained that they are also in La Union for promotion of different tourist destinations as part of their Environmental Protection and Tourism Advocacies. He mentioned that their experience in San Juan as the Surfing Capital of the North is worth remembering. They were there on April 15 and have conducted coastal clean-up in the beaches.

Gov. Pacoy responded to the speech of Sermonia, by acknowledging the contribution of the PNP to the Provincial Government’s priority program on Peace and Order.

The Ganda Pulis 2018 Gala Night will be held on April 21 while the Grand Finals and Coronation Night will be held on April 23 at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City. The Coronation Night will be shown on National TV and will also showcase the candidates in action during their visit in La Union.

The flag raising ceremony concluded with the presentation of token by the PNP to Gov. Pacoy and the singing of La Union Hymn.
