FOUR CONSTRUCTION SUB-PROJECTS IN LA UNION FOR 2020 APPROVED BY REGIONAL PROJECT ADVISORY BOARD

The Provincial Government of La Union through the Provincial Engineer’s Office proposed four sub-projects to the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) on February 12, 2020 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The RPAB which were subsequently approved is composed of Regional Directors of the Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Public Works and Highways and Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Provincial Engineer Ressie A. Estrella presented the feasibility study of the four sub-projects namely Construction of Pideg Bridge with Approaches in Tubao, La Union amounting to Php37.97M; Construction of Provincial Storage Facility with Solar Dryer (Damortis Station) in Sto. Tomas, La Union amounting to Php17.94M;Construction of Provincial Storage Facility with Solar Dryer (Bungol Station) in Balaoan, La Union amounting to Php17.94M; and Construction of Sevilla Warehouse in the City of San Fernando, La Union amounting to Php48.36M. The objective of the said sub-projects is to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the farmers.

Upon deliberation and realization of the importance of the proposed sub-projects, the RPAB gave their approval that they will be included in the roster of sub-projects to be implemented under the Philippine Rural Development Project.

These projects are in support to the realization of La Union’s vision to become the “Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.”
