A wave of love and unity swept through the province through the youthful energy brought by 150 children KaPROBINSYAnihan as Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David together with the First Gentleman and Executive Assistant V Kevin David spearheaded the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) Kids Educational Tour from March 2-3, 2024 at City of San Fernando, La Union.
In accordance with Gov. Rafy’s GIDA Project Initiatives, the GIDA Kids Educational Tour was conducted for the kids from far-flung areas of La Union, personally chosen by Gov. Rafy and EA Kevin, to experience the festivities of the Ayat Fest 2024. The tour consisted of two batches that came from Amontoc, San Gabriel; and Sapdaan Santol, who toured on March 2, 2024, and Dagup, Bagulin; and Licquicia, Caba, who toured the following day.
All of the kids from both groups were accompanied by their teachers and guardians not only to ensure their utmost safety but to experience the most-awaited Ayat Fest 2024 especially the Thrill Fest Activities held at the Poro Point Baywalk, City of San Fernando, La Union.
GIDA Kids Educational Tour Bags and Kits were provided to all participants. They were also given a kiddie medical kit that included oral kits and medicines sponsored by the Department of Health (DOH) and Provincial Health Office (PHO), respectively. Gov. Rafy also treated the kids, guardians, and teachers with surprise kiddie party held at McDonald's Carlatan and Bauang.
Gov. Rafy made sure to meet the participants. She became emotional as she expressed how the GIDA communities touched her heart and how much she wanted to exert more effort in reaching out to them.
“Gusto po naming maramdaman ninyo ang presensiya ng Provincial Government of La Union sa inyong mga barangay kaya po kami ay nag come up ng ganitong educational tour upang makasama po kayo sa ating pagdiriwang ng Ayat Fest 2024," Gov. Rafy said.
As Gov. Rafy, and the whole PGLU, continue to reach all KaPROBINSYAnihan, she reinforces and strengthens love and unity for La Union in all their forms – whether through fund-raising events to help disadvantaged barangays or field trips for children to pick up on and enjoy, such as the GIDA Kids educational tour. This has been the essence of Ayat Fest 2024 that Gov. Rafy wishes to impart to the province. With collective effort and dedication, it has been achieved as evidenced by the smiles painted on every GIDA Kid participant.
