As part of the continued efforts being conveyed to achieve La Union’s vision to be “The Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025,” the Provincial Government of La Union led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David conducted a 3-day Familiarization Tour cum Fun Farmsthetic Seminar for the newly federated La Union Farm Tourism Association (LUFTA) at Region IV-A (CALABARZON) on November 4-6, 2022.

CALABARZON, being one of the leading farm-tourism regions in the country, was the preferred destination for the said activity which was participated in by 12 LUFTA members, because of their developing strategies that could empower farm tourism in La Union.

Aside from the knowledge and skills acquired, essentially, the immersion built linkages and camaraderie among farm tourism site owners in the province. Furthermore, it encouraged them to benchmark good practices, develop sustainable activities for their farms and contribute in the achievement of our Vision for 2025.

Giving importance to continuous learning and development, the La Union Provincial Tourism Office (LUPTO) and Department of Tourism Regional Office 4A (DOT-R4A) conducted the Fun Farmsthetic Seminar on November 4, 2022. Said seminar was facilitated by Mr. Michael Caballes, a national pioneer mentor of Go Negosyo: Kapatid Agri Mentor Me Program (KAAMP) and Chief Farmer of Bukid Amara. On November 5-6, 2022, a Farm Tour was conducted in the provinces of Laguna and Quezon.

Said undertaking exposed the stakeholders on the latest trends and best practices in the farm-tourism industry, wherein the Modern Organic Farming was considered as the most useful, among others.

The learning opportunity served as a great platform that allowed the LUFTA members to acquire necessary insights in becoming more effective and efficient farm tourism owners. This serves as a gateway for La Union, as we activate #LaUnionProbinsyanihan in becoming “The Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.”
