ELYUkal Youth Job Fair Draws Hope to 1,265 Youth Job Seekers

Increasing employment opportunities of kaPROBINSYAnihan, especially the youth Sector, the Provincial Government of La Union, through the Provincial Youth Development Program under the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office hosted the ELYUkal Youth Job Fair 2024 on June 6 at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - Mid La Union Campus.

A total of 2,973 job vacancies from 33 local and national employers were made available during the fair. 1,265 new graduates, out-of-school youth, and job seekers from across the province joined the said activity and 33 were hired-on-the-spot.

In her message, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David emphasized the importance of initiatives like the ELYUkal Youth Job Fair in providing equal opportunities for all jobseekers in La Union while addressing unemployment and underemployment issues among the youth and residents of La Union.

“Our job fair for today provides equal opportunities for all our KaPROBINSYAnihan job seekers. At the end of the day, ang goal po natin ay mailapit sa inyo ang mga kompanyang maaari ninyong pasukan for the improvement of your quality of life,” the governor’s message.

The ELYUkal Youth Job Fair 2024 served as a crucial platform for youth to explore diverse career paths, receive career guidance, and engage directly with potential employers.

The success of the ELYUkal Youth Job Fair 2024 is a testament to the proactive measures taken by the PGLU in fostering a progressive economy while achieving the vision of the province to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
