CDH LAUNCHES HOSPITAL KIDS PLAY CORNER

Caba District Hospital (CDH’s) Supervising Chief Nurse Geraldine T. Posadas conducts Information Education Campaign tackling Proper Handwashing, Smoking Cessation, and Anti-microbial Stewardship during the launching of CDH’s Kids Play Corner held at Caba District Hospital, Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union on August 30, 2018. Said event was participated in by pediatric inpatients and their guardians.

Caba District Hospital (CDH) launched the Hospital’s Kids Play Corner located at the CDH Conference Hall, Caba District Hospital, Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union on August 30, 2018.

Chief of Hospital Dr. Gretchen Aromin said that this place, which is allotted for admitted pediatric patients, was designed and developed to make children play safely, alone or with other children. She also emphasized that playing can restore self-confidence and can serve as a means of communication in the treatment.

Also part of the launching activity was the Information Education Campaign (IEC) conducted by Supervising Chief Nurse Geraldine T. Posadas who tackled proper hand washing, smoking cessation and antimicrobial stewardship. It was participated in by the patients and their guardians.

A total of 12 pediatric patients were given loot bags carrying an apple, Paracetamol and Ascorbic Acid. Watchers were also given IEC materials regarding different hospital programs and services.

The Kids Play Corner aims to create a place where children can forget their sickness for a while. This is also a place where they can relax and have fun without worries. This brings a better atmosphere for the child, the family, other visitors and the CDH employees and makes the treatment easier too.

Play is a familiar and reassuring activity. Being able to play while in the hospital means that children can continue an aspect of their normal life.
