One of the highlights of the activity was the signing of the Pledge of Support to the Anti-Smoking Brigade by the teachers of LUSA, headed by Principal Mrs. Grace Runas. A Pledge of Support to the Anti-Smoking Brigade aimed at the teachers and students to help them participate in the Smoking Cessation advocacy of the CDH in order to achieve a smoke-free and healthy environment.
The pledge on the use of antimicrobials responsibly was signed by the students aimed to promote rational use and to end the irrational use of antimicrobials. According to Department of Health (DOH), irrational use of antimicrobials contributes to the development of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). Everyone is at risk for developing infections which may be caused by resistant microorganisms resulting to the worsening of illness, increased healthcare costs, further spread of infectious diseases and even death.
CDH recognizes the vital role of all adolescents in the society now and in the future. Through the series of lectures imparted to them, CDH aims to help them realize the importance of being physically, mentally, socially healthy, and become productive and worthy members of the community.
