CDH CONDUCTS 3-IN-1 INFORMATION DRIVE

STOP TUBERCULOSIS! Caba District Hospital (CDH) Nurse and Tuberculosis Directly Observed Treatment Short Course (TB DOTS) Coordinator Maricar T. Agpasan imparts her knowledge on tuberculosis prevention, management and control to the Outpatient Department (OPD) patients during the Information Education Campaign held at the OPD waiting area, Caba District Hospital, Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union on March 22, 2019.

SELFIE WITH MY PET. Outpatient Department (OPD) patients and watchers judge the entries of eight Caba District Hospital (CDH) staff who participated in the ‘Selfie with Pet’ Contest as part of the celebration of the Rabies Awareness Month held at the OPD Waiting Area, Caba District Hospital, Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union on March 22, 2019. Staff took selfies with their pets as a sign of responsible pet ownership.

In line with the Department of Health (DOH) flavors of the month which included Rabies Awareness, World Tuberculosis (TB) Day and World Water Day, Caba District Hospital (CDH) conducted an Information Education Drive for patients and watchers tackling various diseases, health awareness and hospital services at the Outpatient Department (OPD) of CDH, Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union on March 22, 2019.

In said info drive, tuberculosis prevention and its management were discussed. Identifying people with active TB and curing them through the provision of proper drug treatment was also emphasized as way of stopping its transmission.

Also, rabies prevention and control in line with the Rabies Awareness Month was included in the info drive. Participants were educated regarding responsible pet ownership, early and proper management of animal bites, promotion of dog vaccination and proper pet grooming. A Selfie with My Pet Contest was also conducted which was participated in by CDH staff and their pets.

As part of the celebration of the World Water Day with the theme “Leaving No One Behind,” conserving water and provision of safe and clean drinking water was tackled. 10 individuals who actively participated in the Question and Answer were given free bottled water.

Information Education Campaign is a regular activity of the hospital which aims to promote health awareness; to disseminate the hospital’s programs and services; and to emphasize that prevention is better than cure.
