CDH conducts 12th Mobile Blood Donation

The Caba District Hospital (CDH) has once again conducted its Mobile Blood Donation (MBD) Program called “Alay Sagip Buhay” on September 17, 2018 at CDH, Caba, La Union.
Now on its 12th year, NDH’s MBD Program has registered a total of 40 volunteer blood donors, 29 of which are CDH staff led by Chief of Hospital, Gretchen F. Aromin.
This year’s MBD Program was done in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - La Union Chapter, La Union Blood Council and the Provincial Health Office.
The program is a quarterly activity of CDH to augment blood supply in the province and create awareness of the importance of donating blood to save others life.
In July 27, 2018, the CDH has received an award from the Philippine Red Cross- LU Chapter for generating the highest number of blood collection in 2017 in the Agency/Organization Category.
The CDH’s program is in fulfillment of the Republic Act 7719, also known as the National Blood Services Act of 1994, which promotes voluntary donation to provide sufficient supply of safe blood and to regulate blood banks.
