CDH COLLECTS 30 BLOOD UNITS

CDH Mobile Blood Donation Program is a quarterly activity of the hospital to augment blood supply in the province.
Caba District Hospital (CDH) Mobile Blood Donation (MBD) Program spearheaded the 17th Mobile Blood Donation “Alay Sagip Buhay” in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-La Union Chapter and the Provincial Health Office on September 13, 2019 at Caba District Hospital, Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union.
A total of 30 volunteer blood donors including Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III’s Executive Assistant Justo Orros III, CDH employees and other walk-in donors participated.
The said activity intended to promote voluntary blood donation to provide sufficient supply of safe blood in the province. It also aimed to inculcate public awareness that blood donation is a humanitarian act and that the blood supply relies on free and voluntary blood donations.
The blood supply relies on free and voluntary blood donations. Republic Act No. 7719, also known as the National Blood Services Act of 1994 promotes voluntary donation to provide sufficient supply of safe blood and to regulate blood banks.
CDH Mobile Blood Donation Program is a quarterly activity of the hospital to augment blood supply in the province and create awareness on the importance of donating blood to save other lives.
