Zumba fanatics enjoy the one hour non-stop Zumba challenge held during the Zumba-Run 2019 on February 26, 2019 at Diego Silang Civic Center and Park and Eco-Tourism Plaza, Poblacion Norte, Caba, La Union. The said activity was part of the 45th Founding Anniversary celebration of the hospital.

CABA, LA UNION- Caba District Hospital (CDH) spearheaded the Zumba-Run 2019 as part of the hospital’s 45th Founding Anniversary on February 26, 2019 at Diego Silang Civic Center and Park and Eco-Tourism Plaza (Municipal Covered Court), Poblacion Norte, Caba, La Union.

Contributing to Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III’s health goal for “Healthy La Union, Happy La Union by 2022,” this hybrid event combines the rigors of running with the adrenaline-pumping style of Zumba into one fun-filled Tuesday morning led by the La Union Fitness Club.

More than 50 participants led by Chief of Hospital Dr. Gretchen F. Aromin gathered for Zumba-style warm-up session which was started at 5:30 in the morning, before they hit the pavement to run a distance of three kilometers. Afterwards, they joined the culminating one hour Zumba with an energizing playlist that fused mainstream pop with Latin-inspired beats.

While Zumba and running are two very different workout types, they are both great cardiovascular workouts and equally popular activity in the country. These two activities are part of CDH’s Health and Wellness Program.

Like running, the beauty of Zumba lies in the fact that it can be enjoyed by anyone, with anyone. Participants of all ages came together to cross the finish line and lose themselves to the upbeat music while burning calories.
