CCTV Cameras Installed in La Union Provincial Jail

The Office of the Provincial Governor – Information and Communications Technology Unit headed by Mr. Gerry D. Binas-o, together with the service provider, introduces the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system of the Provincial Government of La Union to the Security Services Unit and La Union Provincial Jail at the Provincial Government of La Union CCTV Command Center, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union on January 13, 2019.

With Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III’s aim to maintain peace, order and security, the installation of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in and around Provincial Government of La Union’s (PGLU’s) Offices is now on its final phase as the final set was installed around and within the La Union Provincial Jail (LUPJ), F. Ortega Highway, City of San Fernando, La Union on January 13, 2019.

Different types of CCTV cameras such as IR Bullet Camera, Micro Dome Camera and Arecont 3600 in the said location were installed. 38 CCTV cameras were installed within the premises of LUPJ to monitor all the people who are entering and leaving the LUPJ.

A CCTV system wherein simultaneous monitoring and previewing can be done on all the cameras was also installed. It comes with a Network Video Recorder device and a Virtual Machine System-Conversational Monitor System software that will manage the recorded videos from each CCTV camera. The service provider also discussed the different features of the system followed by a hands-on training on the control of the CCTVs.

Said project will contribute to the attainment of the Gov. Pacoy’s vision for the province to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025 by establishing it as a safe tourist destination with needed equipment that will promote safety and security.
