With the aim to strengthen the implementation of Malaria prevention, the Provincial Government of La Union through the Naguilian District Hospital (NDH) participated in a Refresher Training on Malaria Microscopy on July 7-13, 2019 at the Inter-Regional Collaboration Center, DOH, Regional Office 2, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

She was welcomed by the La Union Delegation headed by Provincial Information and Tourism Officer Mr. Adamor L. Dagang. Also joining the delegation were members of La Union Alliance of Tour and Travel Agencies (LUATTA). International Travel Festival (ITF) is an annual travel show that offers discounted travel treats from different tourism stakeholders. La Union booth will be welcoming travel enthusiasts from Cebu and other parts of Visayas and Mindanao until July 14, 2019.

Heights and weights of 23 pupils from said school were measured to ensure that they are healthy in time for the celebration of Nutrition Month 2019.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Ranilo Ipac hands over a check to an indigent resident of La Union representing the Provincial Government of La Union’s financial assistance to their family on July 12, 2019 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. In said distribution activity, a total of 158 indigents received assistance.
With the aim to equip Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Committee (BDRRMC) Members with necessary skills and tools needed in evacuation centers during disasters, around 70 BDRRMC members and representatives from other emergency response units participate in the Camp Coordination and Camp Management Training on July 9-12, 2019 at Hotel Supreme, Baguio City. The activity was spearheaded by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office. Gov. Pacoy, represented by Executive Assistant IV Justo Orros III, highlighted that disaster resiliency is everybody’s business.
QUIT SMOKING. Caba District Hospital (CDH) Social Welfare Officer Mary Ann O. Halog assists 93 years old Leonida Manongdo in signing the “Quit Smoking Contract” during the Senior Citizen Home Visit Outreach Program on July 12, 2019 at Barangay San Cornelio, Caba, La Union. During the said activity, CDH’s Smoking Cessation Program was introduced to the elderly which was followed by counseling and signing of smoking cessation contract.

Beninsig of the Provincial Health Office assess the records on immunization and storage practices for vaccines of Naguilian Rural Health Unit (RHU) during their Supportive Supervisory Visit on July 10, 2019. The activity was conducted to RHUs and District Hospitals in La Union on July 9-12, 2019. It is important that timely vaccination records must be maintained in order for the healthcare provider to monitor their patients properly.
The Office of the Provincial Assessor (OPAss), represented by Local Assessment Operations Officer IV Mr. Nelson Dumo and Local Assessment Operations Officer I Allan Archimedes Bangug, conducts an inspection and assessment on the new building and machinery of Holcim Philippines, Incorporated at Barangay Quirino, Bacnotan, La Union on July 12, 2019. The OPAss Assessment Unit provides assistance to Municipal Assessors in their mandate to inspect buildings and facilities upon request.
