PGLU Promotes Employee Health, Wellness

Employees of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) avail of the free services provided during the PGLU Health and Wellness Day on September 20, 2019 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Among the services provided were medical and dental services; massage and grooming; acupuncture; and lectures.

NDH Site Visit Conducted

In preparation for the transfer of the Naguilian District Hospital (NDH) Emergency and Out Patient Department, the Provincial Engineering Office and NDH Chief Dr. Eleanor G. Dacanay lead the conduct of site visit at the NDH, Naguilian, La Union on September 20, 2019. The team checked the roofing, water pipelines, and electrical wiring of the Hospital building as well as the new hospital building.

CDH Adopts “Basura para sa Bigas” Program

PALIT BASURA PROJECT. Caba District Hospital (CDH) Chief Dr. Gretchen F. Aromin spearheads the distribution of rice to hospital personnel as part of the “Basura para sa Bigas” Program of the Provincial Government of La Union on September 20, 2019 at CDH Atrium, Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union. To reduce non-biodegradable wastes in the hospital, CDH adopted the “Basura Para sa Bigas” Program where all plastic wrappers are put in bottles and later exchanged for rice.

BDH Participates in Medical Technology Week

PROMOTION OF LABORATORY SERVICES. Bacnotan District Hospital (BDH) Medical Technologist Melanie Holt explains to the patients and their companions the preparations before having their blood tested at the Out-Patient Department, BDH, Bacnotan, La Union on September 20, 2019. After the lecture, selected patients were provided with free blood typing services and free urine analysis. The free laboratory services were given by BDH to its patients in celebration of the Medical Technology Week.

CDH Reaches out to 7 Elderlies

SERVICE WITH COMPASSION. Caba District Hospital (CDH) Nurse Chona B. Gachallan teaches Lola Teresita R. Sudiaca on gentle sitting exercises to improve mobility and prevent falls during the CDH Senior Citizen Home Visit Outreach Program on September 20, 2019 at Barangay Las-Ud and Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union. A total of seven senior citizens benefitted on the said activity. Home Visit Community Outreach Program is a monthly activity of CDH as a way of giving back to the community, true to CDH’s hospital brand “Service with Compassion” and achieve the Provincial Government of La Union vision of a Happy La Union and Healthy La Union by 2022.

Provincial Solid Waste Management Board Convene For Greener PGLU (SHEREAL CATBAGAN)

Members of the Technical Working Group of the Provincial Solid Waste Management Board revisit the Provincial Ordinance 030-2012 amended through the Provincial Ordinance 058-2014 or also known as Plastic Bag Regulation Ordinance on September 19, 2019 at the 3rd Basement, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Building, City of San Fernando, La Union. Senior Environmental Management Specialist Shereal Catbagan presented the sections of the provincial ordinance that needs amendment. The group agreed to amend the ordinance and create the Implementing Rules and Regulations for its holistic implementation.

Provincial Solid Waste Management Board Convene For Greener PGLU (ROBERT LELINA)

Provincial General Services Officer-in-charge Engr. Robert Lelina shares possible options on how to improve and promote green and sustainable consumption of goods in the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), during a meeting on September 19, 2019 at the 3rd Basement, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Building, City of San Fernando, La Union. The Technical Working Group of the Provincial Solid Waste Management Board convened to formulate the guideline for green and sustainable consumption of goods in PGLU. The guideline applies to all PGLU employees, food vendors within PGLU premises, food caterers/suppliers and service providers.

OPAss Shares Best Practices

La Union Provincial Assessor Engr. Arnulfo A. Cacho and staff share the good practices of the office to the Provincial Assessor’s Office of Ilocos Sur during their one-day benchmarking on September 19, 2019 at the Office of the Provincial Assessor (OPAss), LUPAC Building, City San Fernando, La Union. This is the second time that the OPAss has been benchmarked by other Local Government Units this year.
