Gov. Pacoy convenes the Provincial Government of La Union Task Force Against Coronavirus Disease 2019 (CoViD 2019) and African Swine Fever for an emergency meeting on February 13, 2020 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Tackled were the current status of CoViD 2019 and the preventive measures on how to battle against it.

Pasig City Shares FOI Best Practices to PGLU

Pasig City Local Government Unit (LGU) Freedom of Information (FOI) Focal Person Winnie Rayos-Dimanlig shares their LGU’s best practices on their FOI services to the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), led by Gov. Pacoy, during a round-table discussion on February 13, 2020 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Other PGLU representatives were Board Member Gerard Ostrea, BM Jennifer Mosuela, Provincial Legal Officer Dominique Jose Puzon, and Media and Public Information Unit Chief Joanna C. Guerrero.

La Union Investment Board Convenes

La Union Investment Board convenes for their First Quarterly Meeting to review the Implementing Rules and Regulation of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Ordinance No. 166-2019 concerning the La Union Investment and incentives code of 1999 on February 12, 2020 at the La Union Agri-Tourism Center, City of San Fernando, La Union. The board meeting was presided by Vice Chairperson Lina Flor G. Hizon. Also present were BM Geraldine R. Ortega; BM Jonathan Justo A. Orros and other members of the board.

Sand, Gravel Outposts Inspected

Provincial Treasury staff headed by Acting Provincial Treasurer Janet D. Molina and Provincial Engineering staff visit and inspect the newly-installed Sand and Gravel Outposts in the First and Second Districts of La Union on February 11-12, 2020. Outposts were constructed to ensure better assistance to sand and gravel haulers and to safeguard the members of the Provincial Treasury Monitoring Team resulting to higher collection of sand and gravel taxp.

MLU2020 Security and Support Committee conducts 2nd Coordination Meeting

To ensure the safety and security of the attendees of the Mutia ti La Union (MLU) 2020 Grand Coronation Night, the MLU Security and Support Committee conducts their Second Coordination Meeting on February 10, 2020 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Security plan for the said event on March 2, 2020 was presented and discussed.

PGLU Adopts Stakeholders Information System

The employees of Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) undergo the End-User’s Training for the newly developed Stakeholders Information System created by the Information and Communications Technology Unit spearheaded by Mr. Gerry D. Binas-o on February 10, 2020 at PSWDO, Aguila Rd., Brgy. II, City of San Fernando, La Union. The system’s first integration, the Financial Assistance module, will help the PSWDO in monitoring the list of beneficiaries who availed the assistance of the Provincial Government of La Union in terms of medical, burial and enhanced age assistance.

LU Councilors Oriented on CMCI

Assistant Regional Dir. Daria Mingaracal of the Department of Trade and Industry Region 1 gives an orientation on the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) to over 100 councilors of La Union, during the 2nd Philippine Councilors League – La Union (PCL-LU) Chapter Training Series on February 6, 2020 at the Hotel Ariana, Bauang, La Union. PCL-LU President Chary Nisce said the orientation aims to boost the councilors’ commitment in strengthening the performance of their respective local government unit in the CMCI.
