In line with the Department of Health and Provincial Government of La Union’s programs on Adolescent Health Promotion, Balaoan District Hospital (BLDH) reaches out to Senior Highschool students of Luna National Vocational School, Luna, La Union on February 18, 2020 for information and education campaign on adolescent issues and concerns. OB-Gynecologist Dr. Claire Maramat-Lucina spearheaded the awareness lectures on smoking, alcohol and drug addiction, risky sexual behaviors, teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease prevention to 104 Senior Highschool students. BLDH conducts Information dissemination and education campaign every quarter.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of La Union conducts 11 Joint Committee Hearings/Meetings on February 17, 2020 at the Conference Room, SP Building, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Included in the topics discussed was a letter from the governor requesting the SP for a resolution authorizing him to enter a Memorandum of Agreement in behalf of the Provincial Government of La Union with Landbank – Bauang Branch in relation to the new livelihood loan facility or the electronic salary loan system. Representatives from the Office of the Provincial Treasurer and Atty. Jessamine C. Garcinez of Provincial Legal Office were invited as Resource Speakers during the said hearing.

Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) employees put their hands on their chest as they recite the declaration of the value of the week interdependence, led by Board Secretary V Ms. Jane Flores of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, during the Flag Raising Ceremony on February 17, 2020 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. The activity is a part of the Values Restoration Program which aims to provide a soft approach on the government’s anti-corruption initiatives.

VALENTINE SERENADE. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Bacnotan District Hospital (BDH) personnel greet, give flowers and serenade admitted patients on February 14, 2020. BDH promotes a holistic approach of healing for patients by singing especially on this occasion of love.

The Nursing Service Department, Infection Control Committee and Red Orchid Committee of La Union Medical Center join forces as they conduct an outreach program for the pupils from Day Care to Grade 2 of Balawarte Elementary School and Day Care Center on February 14, 2020. The program featured “Sagip Ribrib ken Binukbok,” which included a lecture on dental health care fluoride application, and distribution of toothpastes, toothbrushes and food supplements. Lectures on smoking, hand hygiene and Coronavirus Disease 19 were also conducted.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee Chair on Youth and Sports Development Alyssa Kristine B. Sibuma leads the formulation of Medium-Term Provincial Youth Development Plan (PYDP) on February 12-13, 2020 at Hotel Ariana Paringao, Bauang, La Union. The PYDP aims to maximize the participation of the youth in nation-building as responsible and proactive citizens.

Gov. Pacoy convenes the Provincial Government of La Union Task Force Against Coronavirus Disease 2019 (CoViD 2019) and African Swine Fever for an emergency meeting on February 13, 2020 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Tackled were the current status of CoViD 2019 and the preventive measures on how to battle against it.

Pasig City Local Government Unit (LGU) Freedom of Information (FOI) Focal Person Winnie Rayos-Dimanlig shares their LGU’s best practices on their FOI services to the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), led by Gov. Pacoy, during a round-table discussion on February 13, 2020 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Other PGLU representatives were Board Member Gerard Ostrea, BM Jennifer Mosuela, Provincial Legal Officer Dominique Jose Puzon, and Media and Public Information Unit Chief Joanna C. Guerrero.
