Gov. Pacoy leads in worship during the Thanksgiving Gathering on February 29, 2020 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, City of San Fernando, La Union. He led a prayer for the province as he declared that La Union is God’s La Union where everything that the people do is offered for God’s greater glory. Said event is part of the 170th La Union Founding Anniversary with a theme, “La Union 2020: Eyeing Transformation, Focusing on Love.”
The Office of the Governor -Environment and Natural Resources Unit (OPG-ENRU) together with the Environmental Management Coordinators (EMC) convene for their 1st Quarter Meeting for the year 2020 at the 3rd basement, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Building, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union on February 28, 2020. Agenda of the meeting were 2019 accomplishments, ENRU 2020 strategic initiatives, finalization of provincial Environment Code and EMC Benchmarking activity and other matters. EMC of Agoo Mr. Renato Balderas also shared their waste reduction technology which uses Black Soldier Fly larvae to decompose biodegradable waste and produce fertilizer in a shorter time compared to Afican Night Crawler or vermicomposting.
Employees from the Provincial Engineering Office and Environment and Natural Resource Unit participate in the Strategic Targeting Workshop on February 26, 2020 at Dencio’s Bar and Grill, City of San Fernando, La Union. All other Provincial Government of La Union offices will undergo the same workshop until March 19, 2020 to finalize their 2020 Widely Important Goals in achieving the Medium Term Strategy focused on Tourism.

Ortega join the Regional Development Council 1 First Regular Meeting for CY2020 on February 26, 2020 at Hotel Ariana, Bauang, La Union. In his speech, Gov. Pacoy presented the Programs, Projects and Activities of the Provincial Government of La Union divided into Financial Stability, Economic Dynamism, Resilient Communities and Organizational Accountability Sectors.
The Provincial Government of La Union, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, conducts the Farmers, Fisherfolks and Cooperatives Night on February 25, 2020 at Provincial Capitol Complex, City of San Fernando, La Union. The said event is a venue to recognize the outstanding performance of the various organizations and associations from the different sector composing of farmers, fisherfolks and cooperatives.
Representatives from the Provincial Government of La Union through the Office of the Provincial Governor – Environment and Natural Resources Unit assist in the release of 78 Olive Ridley turtle hatchlings on February 25, 2020 at CURMA hatchery in San Juan, La Union. Local and foreign tourists, residents, and volunteers came to assist and witness the release of hatchlings from the nest to the sea. Usually the survival rate of turtle hatchlings from the nest to the sea is 1% but with the help of CURMA and volunteers that oversee and help in the release of turtle hatchlings, the survival rate of the hatchlings increases.
