COVID-19 patient from Santo Tomas Discharged

She tested positive on April 23, 2020 and received her first and second negative test results on May 5 and 20, 2020, respectively.

This brought down the active cases in the province to only two (2) patients.

Luna Receives 2nd Wave of Relief

LOVE GOODS FOR LUNA. Constituents of Luna, La Union feel the love of the Provincial Government of La Union through the second set of relief goods given to them on May 19, 2020. A total of 13,158 families received the ‘love goods.’

PCTAC Committees Report Accomplishments

The Provincial Core Team Against CoViD-19 (PCTAC), headed by Gov. Pacoy, holds its regular meeting on May 19, 2020 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Committees on Planning, Advisory and Research, Health Emergency Response, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Strategic Communications, Relief Operations, Logistics and Resource Mobilization, and Finance each reported their accomplishments as well as plans moving forward.

Gov Pacoy directed the Team to ensure all efforts of the PGLU to stop the spread of the disease and mitigate its effects are sustained and all programs & activities must be in line with the policies of the national government.

The PCTAC aims to sustain its positive momentum as La Union heads towards the New Normal.

San Gabriel, Sudipen Receive 2nd Wave of Relief

SECOND WAVE FOR SAN GABRIEL AND SUDIPEN. The Provincial Government of La Union is steadfast in providing sustained assistance to its constituents amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The second wave of relief operations continues as residents of San Gabriel and Sudipen receive their relief goods on May 18, 2020. Around 5,592 and 5,357 food packs were distributed in San Gabriel and Sudipen, respectively.

Santol Receive 2nd Wave of Relief

BIG LOVE FOR SANTOL. The love of the Provincial Government of La Union for the people of Santol is huge! Around 4,245 families in the town received their second wave of relief goods on May 15, 2020 as the province remains under General Community Quarantine. To aid them in their recovery from COVID-19, the PGLU also donated PPE sets to the town’s 11 barangays, and cavans of rice to the Municipal Government.

PGLU Empower Environmental Protection, Conservation

MID-PANDEMIC SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT. Amidst its bold fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Provincial Government of La Union remains committed on environmental protection and conservation. To enable its component Local Government Units (LGUs) in their solid waste management amidst the pandemic, the PGLU donated garbage collection trucks to Naguilian, Bauang, Agoo, Balaoan and Bangar LGUs during a simple turn-over ceremony on May 13 and 14, 2020. These donations were the LGUs’ prize as winners in the PGLU’s inter-LGU competition, “Cleanest, Safest and Greenest LGUs” in the previous years.

PGLU Distributes PPE sets to Naguilian

AID FOR NAGUILIAN, TATTAN. The Provincial Government of La Union recognizes the need to provide immediate and proactive assistance to constituents in the midst of crisis. With a sense of urgency, the residents of Naguilian, La Union were given their second wave of relief goods from the PGLU on May 14, 2020. Food packs were extended to 16,954 families, PPE sets to 37 barangays, and 10 cavans of rice to Naguilian LGU.

PGLU Ensures Responsible Quarrying During GCQ

The Provincial Government of La Union through the Office of the Provincial Governor – Environment and Natural Resources Unit ensures responsible quarrying in the province during the community quarantine through the conduct of quarry checkpoint at the exit and entry points of La Union as soon as the operation of construction industries resume. The team conducted the checking in Sudipen, La Union on May 13, 2020 to monitor and address issues of illegal quarrying operations. Fines and penalties were imposed to violators pursuant to Tax Ordinance No. 115-2017 otherwise known as Revenue Code of the Province of La Union.
