NAPANAM Scanning Point Established at City Market

𝗑𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗑𝗔𝗠 𝗔𝗧 π—–π—œπ—§π—¬ 𝗠𝗔π—₯π—žπ—˜π—§. As the Provincial Government of La Union continues to combat the CoViD-19 pandemic, the Information and Communications Technology Unit and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in coordination with the City of San Fernando through City Representative Ms. Marylin R. Jucar – City Assistant Department Head, the NAPANAM QR Scanning Point was installed at the Public Market of the City of San Fernando, La Union on February 4, 2021.

As we heal as one, the NAPANAM system became an integral way to track and trace the movement of the people towards a CoViD-19 free La Union.

PGLU Approves Fine Sharing Ordinance

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of La Union passed an Act Providing for the Sharing of Fines of Collected Monetary Penalties in the Violation of Provincial Ordinances on January 19, 2021.

LU Celebrates World Wetlands Day

LU Celebrates World Wetlands Day. Over 30 individuals from the Provincial Government of La Union -Environment and Natural Resources Office, Local Government Unit- Bauang, Parian Oeste Barangay Council and Fishermen’s Association participated in the Environmental reconnaissance cum clean-up on February 2, 2021 at Mangrove Eco Park, Parian Oeste, Bauang, La Union. World Wetlands Day is celebrated internationally each year on the 2nd day of February which aimed to raise public awareness about wetland importance and benefits promoting its conservation and wise use.

Gov. Pacoy Witnesses PNP-RO1 Turnover of Command

PRO1 TURNOVER OF COMMAND. Gov. Pacoy witnesses the turnover of command of the leadership at the Philippine National Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) on February 2, 2021, as PBGEN EMMANUEL B PERALTA takes the helm at PRO1 as the new Regional Director (RD), succeeding outgoing RD, PBGEN RODOLFO S AZURIN JR.
PNP Chief PGEN DEBOLD M SINAS administered the command turnover, as he assured his unceasing support to the PRO1 in their duty to uphold peace and order in the region. Gov. Pacoy expressed his gratitude to the PNP officials for their commitment to help preserve public safety and security in the province, which is integral in building a Stronger La Union, a province worth living in.

R1 VISITA Simulation Conducted

Representatives from the La Union Provincial Tourism Office, Information and Communications Technology Unit and the Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office together with the La Union Alliance of Travel and Tour Agencies undergo a simulation of the R1 VISITA System during the R1 VISITA Training on February 1 and 2, 2021 at the PG-ENRO Conference Room, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The R1 VISITA, which stands for Region 1 Visitors Information and Travel Assistance, is a digitalized system application that shall be implemented to register entry of tourists and monitor the influx and movement of visitors around the region using a QR Code. The R1 VISITA, an added border control system for tourists once implemented, is a concept of the Department of Tourism-Region 1 who also conducted the training and simulation.

La Union First in Ilocano Culinary Heritage Pinakbet Competition

LU’s PINAKBEST! Officers of the Association of Tourism Industries and Networks (ATIN-LU) led by Xavier Mercado and LJ Rosales present to Gov. Pacoy on February 8, 2021, their trophy for winning first place at the Ilocano Culinary Heritage Pinakbet Competition held in Paoay, Ilocos Norte on February 2, 2021. LU-based chefs Andrew Nathaniel Perez and Jonie Navarette Alagna created the winning cuisine dubbed as “eLyU’s Maritangtang PICKnakbet.”
The recipe takes inspiration from the farm-to-table concept, as the key ingredients are freshly harvested from various farms in the province, and cooked using indigenous implements such as the claypot, bamboo and stone.
According to ATIN-LU, the winning piece is “La Union’s proud ilocano dish, that exemplifies the hard work and diligence of the farmers and fisherfolks of the province.”

LU Coastal Area Preserved through Pagna Pagna para iti Basura

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) joins the celebration of the National Zero Waste Month through a beach fun walk activity cum coastal clean-up drive dubbed as “Pagna Pagna para iti Basura” in partnership with the Municipality of San Juan on January 22, 2021 along the shorelines of Barangay Ili Sur to Barangay Taboc, San Juan, La Union.
