LUMC Receives 700 CoViD-19 Vaccines, Gears Up for #BakunaMuna Rollout

The La Union Medical Center (LUMC), headed by Chief of Hospital Dr. Glenn Ernest Fonbuena, prepares for the roll out of #BakunaMuna Vaccination Program following the turning over of 700 vials of CoViD-19 vaccines today, March 5, 2021 for 350 LUMC medical personnel.
The Provincial Government of La Union through the CoViD-19 Vaccination Program Task Force (CVP-TF) led by Focal Person and Vaccination Operations Manager Dr. Dan William Dacanay conducted an immediate monitoring of the preparedness of the hospital in terms of cold chain storage, vaccination and observation facilities, medical equipment, and other logistical and manpower requirements.

OPAss, PTO collaborate, Promote Automation of Assessment, Treasury Operations

The Office of the Provincial Treasurer and the Office of the Provincial Assessor conduct the first of the four batches of trainings on the Enhanced Real Property Taxation System (eRPTS) – Treasury module to Municipal Treasurer’s Offices on March 4, 2021 at the Conference Room of the Office of the Provincial Assessor, LUPAC Building, City of San Fernando, La Union. The system will produce real time data and accuracy, to improve the processing of transactions, on assessment and treasury services, and to catch up manual errors as soon as possible.

CDH Conducts Anti-Rabies Awareness Program

𝗥𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦. As part of the Anti-rabies Program of Caba District Hospital (CDH) and in line with the celebration of Rabies Awareness Month, Nurse Rolyn O. De Vera strengthens public awareness through information education and communication activity held at the Out-Patient Department (OPD) waiting area, Caba District Hospital, Caba, La Union on March 4, 2021. The activity tackles rabies prevention and control, responsible pet ownership, early and proper management of animal bites, promotion of dog vaccination and proper pet grooming. The said activity was participated in by OPD patients scheduled for anti-rabies vaccination. The Rabies Awareness Month is celebrated every March by virtue of Executive Order No. 84 signed on March 13, 1999 by then President Joseph Estrada.

Environmental Management Coordinators Meet, Program Line-up Discussed

Environmental Management Coordinators of La Union convene for the 1st Quarter Regular Meeting on March 4, 2021 through video conferencing. Senior Environmental Management Specialist EnP. Shereal M. Catbagan of the Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office presided over the said meeting discussing the issues and concerns on solid waste management particularly on the establishment and operational management of sanitary landfill facilities; wastewater management in piggeries; creation of environment and natural resources officer (ENRO); data on greening program; and reiteration on the participation of Local Government Units in the celebration of environmental calendar of events.

Mr. Junero Rome Estolas of DENR-EMB Region 1 was invited to assist and provide information on the necessary requirements and permits needed to secure and implement for the proper operational management of sanitary landfill facilities and other LGU-owned facilities.

Mr. Ranilo Ipac, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer was also invited and served as resource speaker during the meeting and he shared his presentation entitled “Understanding Myself as a Person and as a Public Servant.“

Watchmen Oriented on NAPANAM System

In accordance to the Executive Order (EO) No. 3 of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) together with the Information and Communications Technology Unit (ICTU) conducted an orientation to 36 individual watchman who will be handling the NAPANAM Contact Tracer System in the different borders of La Union on March 3, 2021 at the PDRRMO Building, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.

One component of the EO pertains to the use of the NAPANAM Quick Response (QR) Codes by individuals, vehicles and QR Scanning Points (QSPs) at the different border control points for residents and non-residents of La Union.

In preparation to the implementation of the said EO, the said participants underwent the training on how to use the system particularly on how to approve/disapprove on the Individual and Vehicle Registration Module of the NAPANAM System.

They were also informed of their roles and responsibilities as watchman and as NAPANAM Focal Personnel in their designated border.

As a part of the continuing effort of the PGLU in fighting the CoViD-19 Pandemic, the NAPANAM Contact Tracer System caters a big role in monitoring the movement timeline of individuals entering and leaving various establishments and those entering / leaving the province.

CDH STRENGTHENS HOSPITAL WORKFORCE

STRENGTHENED WORKFORCE. Caba District Hospital’s (CDH’s) Chief Dr. Gretchen F. Aromin strengthens the CDH workforce during the General Staff Meeting on March 3, 2021 through video conferencing tackling various hospital concerns that include vaccination program for CoViD-19; result of the customer satisfaction for the months of January and February 2021; International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Quality Management System matters; status of hospital operations; and scheduled activities for the month. General Staff Meeting is a monthly activity of the hospital scheduled every first Wednesday of the month which aims to update CDH staff on hospital operations, memoranda and other advisories. It is a venue where hospital issues are discussed, improving communication among units, promoting coordination among all staff, strengthening the hospital workforce.

Identity, Synergy, Resiliency Underscored in La Union Day

Adhering to the demands of the new normal, the 171st La Union Foundation Day was celebrated through hybrid activities on March 2, 2021 highlighting the province’s Identity, Synergy and Resiliency.

The celebration kickstarted with a Dawn Watch Prayer for a Stronger La Union where intentions offered in prayer and worship were the vaccination program, economic recovery, tourism and agriculture, environment preservation, job opportunities, families, leaders and officials in the province and in the country. It was aired live in the Facebook page of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU).
