#BakunaMuna CoViD-19 Vaccination Program in LU Continues; District and Private Hospitals Receive First Dose

In the continuing fight against CoViD-19 and through the #BakunaMuna program of the Provincial Government of La Union, a total of 1,063 CoViD-19 vaccines were turned over to the five district hospitals and four private hospitals in La Union on March 9, 2021 for the first dose of their health care workers.
In accordance to the prioritization framework of the National Vaccination Plan adopted by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases, medical frontliners are the top priority in the vaccination program as they are most exposed to virus threat.

COA-RO1 Conducts Exit Conference

𝗖𝗒𝗔 π—˜π—«π—œπ—§ π—–π—’π—‘π—™π—˜π—₯π—˜π—‘π—–π—˜. Officers from the Commission on Audit Regional Office 1 discuss with the Gov. Pacoy and his cabinet the results of their audit for the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), during their exit conference on March 9, 2021 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Audit results show that the PGLU is fully compliant with auditing rules, which is reflective of its sound financial management practices.
Gov. Pacoy underscored that aligned with the principles of Transformative Governance, the PGLU shall remain resolute in upholding transparency and accountability which is integral in the province’s crisis recovery initiatives.
The minimum public health standards were strictly observed during the meeting.

LU Teachers Trained on Iloko Module Preparation

In celebration of the 62nd Public Library Day, the Provincial Government of La Union through the La Union Provincial Library conducted a Seminar on Iloko Module Crafting to selected Grade School Teachers of the First District of La Union today, March 9, 2021 at the Provincial Library, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Addressing the challenges of the new normal for educators, the program focused on training teacher-participants in the preparation of Iloko Modules including writing, categorization and a workshop.

PGLU Ensures Uninterrupted Services

π—£π—šπ—Ÿπ—¨β€™π˜€ π—–π—’π—‘π—§π—œπ—‘π—¨π—œπ—‘π—š π—¦π—˜π—₯π—©π—œπ—–π—˜. Gov. Pacoy orders his cabinet members to ensure the uninterrupted services in the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), as he presided the hybrid Cabinet Meeting on March 8, 2021. Highlights of the meeting are the sectoral committee reports, namely the province’s financial status; tourism industry’s employment rate; and, local commodities price monitoring. The PGLU executives also discussed the COVID-19 updates, especially the ongoing vaccination program piloted among healthcare workers in the province.

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) together with the Commission on Audit (COA) Regional Office 1 conducted the CY 2020 Annual Audit Exit Conference on March 8, 2021 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Present during the conference were Gov. Francisco Emmanuel β€œPacoy” R. Ortega III, the Department Heads of the PGLU and governance partners from the COA-RO 1 Assistant Regional Director Ms. Jocelyn R. Ramos, OIC – Supervising Auditor Ms. Tracy Ann D. Sunico, Audit Group – Team Leader Ms. Marilyn L. Reyes and audit team members.
The said conference is an annual activity of the PGLU and the COA which aims to communicate to the different offices, work units and district hospitals of the PGLU on the observations and recommendations on its financial operation to ensure fair and balance reporting. The core of the discussion focused on the CoViD-19 fund receipts, allocation and utilization, the local revenues of the province and other key financial reports.

Celebrating Women’s Month, CDH Recognizes Role of women in Battling Pandemic

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT. In celebration of Women’s Month, Caba District Hospital (CDH)’s Social Welfare Officer Mary Ann O. Halog imparts to the Out-patient Department (OPD) patients and inpatients the role of women in battling the pandemic, gender issues exacerbated by the pandemic, women’s rights and the importance of Republic Act 9262 or also known as the Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004 during the Information Education Campaign on March 8, 2021 at the OPD waiting area and wards, Caba District Hospital, Caba, La Union. The said activity was participated in by both men and women in the OPD waiting area and inpatient wards.

BDH Offers Pre, Post-Natal Check Up on National Buntis Day

In Celebration of National Buntis Day, Medical Specialist I (Ob-Gyne) Dr. Claire Maramat-Lucina of Balaoan District Hospital (BLDH) with Dr. Emaline Masangkay-Molano conduct free pre and post-natal check up on March 8, 2021 at BLDH, Balaoan, La Union. Due to the prohibition of mass gathering by the IATF, BLDH has limited the number to only 10 patients catered for free prenatal, and three (3) patients for post-natal check up with counselling of the Nutritionist-Dietician. Five (5) patients with high risk pregnancies were provided free ultrasound. BLDH yearly conducts this activity to provide education on Safe Motherhood and Responsible Parenthood.

La Union CoViD-19 Vaccination Kicks Off

Now equipped with the CoViD-19 Vaccine, the Province of La Union rolls out its #BakunaMuna CoViD-19 Vaccination Program today, March 6, 2021 at the La Union Medical Center (LUMC), Agoo, La Union targeting around 50 medical frontliners for Day 1.

Increasing the trust of medical frontliners who gave consent to receive the vaccine, it was first administered to LUMC Chief Executive Officer IV Dr. Glenn Ernest Fonbuena and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Eduardo Posadas.
