PPMIU Convenes; Discussed Reorganization, PRDP

The Provincial Project Management Implementing Unit (PPMIU) chaired by Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (PPDC) Michaela Louise T. Delfinado convened for its 1st quarter regular meeting on March 15, 2021 through video conferencing to discuss the Revised Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) – PPMIU Executive Order and the Reorganization of the PPMIU.

During the said meeting, the body agreed that Provincial Agriculturist Col. Ramon F. Laudencia will be the new PPMIU head. Likewise, each sub-component of the PPMIU presented the updates and accomplishments of their respective projects and activities. One of the highlights were the completed projects that have been funded by PRDP, Provincial Government of La Union and other line agencies.

The PPMIU is lodged at the Provincial Government to serve as the office through which the projects supported under the PRDP will be implemented.

CDH MOBILE BLOOD DONATION COLLECTS 14 BLOOD UNITS

DONATE BLOOD, GIVE LOVE. Caba District Hospital (CDH) collects 14 units of blood during the CDH 23rd Mobile Blood Donation โ€œAlay Sagip Buhayโ€ on March 12, 2021 at CDH, Caba, La Union. CDH Mobile Blood Donation Program aims to augment blood supply in the province and create awareness of the importance of donating blood to save others life. CDH Mobile Blood Donation is a quarterly activity of the hospital in partnership with Philippine Red Cross- La Union Chapter and the Provincial Health Office of the Provincial Government of La Union.

NDH Installs 2 Upgraded Inflatable Tents

To strengthen the provinceโ€™s CoViD-19 Response, the Naguilian District Hospital (NDH) in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways Region I (DPWH), and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), installed an upgraded inflatable tent with two air-conditioning units on March 12, 2021 at the NDH, Naguilian, La Union. This will be used as a holding area for CoViD-19 suspects awaiting for transfer or for admission depending in the disposition of the doctor. Signing of Memorandum of Agreement also took place together with NDH OIC Dr. Eduardo Posadas; NDH Administrative Officer V Ms. Julie Costales; DPWH Engr. Dominic Dela Cruz, Engr. Sherwin Samson and Engr. Mervin Enriquez; and Assistant PDRRMO Alvin A. Cruz.

OPPDC Conducts Virtual Orientation 2022 AIP Preparation

AIP Planning and Budgeting Refresher. The Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (OPPDC) conducted a Virtual Orientation on the Preparation of CY 2022 Annual Investment Program (AIP) on March 12, 2021 through video conference. The said orientation aims to refresh the departments/offices on the planning and budgeting process; to orient the departments/offices on the development of project proposal; and to inform the offices/departments on the Timeline of Activities set for the formulation of CY 2022 AIP.

Part I of the said Orientation was the Refresher on Planning and Budgeting Process. Part II was the Development of Program/Project Proposal wherein PPDC Michaela Louise Delfinado oriented the participants on how to develop a project proposal and the points to consider for its preparation. Part III was the Moving Forward where the offices were informed on the timeline of activities being set for the preparation of the AIP CY 2022.

Present during the said activity were the department heads and AIP focal persons of the different offices and District Hospitals of the Provincial Government of La Union .

PGLU Levels-up Tourism Workforce in Tourist One Stop Shops

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office (LUPTO) in collaboration with the Department of Tourism โ€“ Regional Office 1 (DOT-RO1) conducted a Tourist One Stop Shop (TOSS) Seminar-Workshop with 15 newly-hired TOSS Assistants from different Local Government Units of the province on March 9 โ€“ 11, 2021.

50 health care workers from the Naguilian District Hospital and Project Based Nurses coming from Home of Hope of Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union and Acao, Bauang, La Union were vaccinated for their first dose of Sinovac Coronavac on March 9-11, 2021 at NDH New Building.
Prescribed vaccination procedure was observed including registration and scanning of Napanam QR Code; health education and final consent; screening; and vaccination. After taking the shot, employees were monitored for thirty minutes.
