NDH Celebrates 49th Anniversary

NDH @ 49. The Naguilian District Hospital celebrated its 49th Anniversary on March 23, 2021 through thanksgiving and health care activities. Employees headed by Provincial Health Officer II and OIC Chief of Hospital Dr. Eduardo Posadas offered a mass at the Saint Augustine Parish Church, Naguilian, La Union followed bya gift giving activity to all in-patients by the Nursing Service Staff at NDH.

As a sign of God’s blessing to NDH, a healthy baby girl was delivered through cesarean section and was called the NDH 49th Anniversary Baby. Also, on the same day one CoViD-19 recovery, a 24 years old female was discharged.

The Senior Citizens Health and Development Committee led by Dr. Renan Difuntorum referred a Senior Citizen patient for free CT Scan at the Department of Social Welfare and Development Malasakit Center.

Simultaneously, Sinovac Coronavac vaccination took place at the NDH New Building Conference Hall. Health protocols were observed in all activities.

With the ill-effects of the CoViD-19 pandemic, Gov. Pacoy imparted how the Province of La Union remains strong and thriving amidst the challenging times during his guesting at the live-streamed radio program Kapihan sa DMMMSU, last March 23, 2021.
Gov. Pacoy shared how the Provincial Government ramped up the Province’s Strategy on Response, Recovery, and Local Economic Development as a means to regain momentum and build a Stronger La Union.
During the interview, one of the highlighted initiatives was the Vaccination Program, which has already inoculated 71% of the frontline healthcare workers in the Province.
Provincial Health Officer and CVP-TF Head Dr. Eduardo Posadas tackled the Provincial Government’s next steps to pull off β€œherd immunity.” Also, as the Province slowly opens its doors to tourism, Gov. Pacoy appealed to everyone to strictly observe health protocols and comply with requirements to protect visitors and the locals’ welfare.
He reiterated the importance of never keeping our guards down as we have to balance health protection and tourism advancement. As parting words, Gov. Pacoy encouraged key stakeholders, governance partners, and all constituents to work willingly, collaborate passionately, and own their roles in fighting the battle against CoViD-19 and achieving a #StrongerLaUnion.

CDH CONDUCTS WEBINAR ON RABIES AWARENESS, RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP

STRENGTHENING PUBLIC AWARENESS ON RABIES, RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP. In celebration of the Rabies Awareness Month this 2021, with the theme β€œMaging Responsableng Amo, Huwag Hayaang Gumala ang Alagang Pusa’t Aso,” Caba District Hospital conducted a Webinar on Rabies Awareness on March 23, 2021 through video conferencing.

BDH FRONTLINERS RECEIVE THEIR FIRST DOSE OF COVID19 VACCINE

BDH ON BIDA #RESBAKUNA. A total of 91 health workers from the Bacnotan District Hospital (BDH) have already received their first dose of the vaccine as of March 22, 2021. β€œVaccination is our best transportation out of the pandemic coupled with continuing adherence to minimum health protocols, so when your time to receive the vaccine comes, receive it with joy and anticipation of a CoViD-free future,” Dr. Zenserly Pagaduan, BDH Chief of Hospital says as she prays for a 100% fully vaccinated BDH and La Union healthcare personnel.

PGLU Take Part in International Day of Forests, World Water Day

Lomboy-De Guzman, MD, lead the planting of 300 mangrove seedlings at the Bauang Bakawan Eco-Tourism Park, Brgy. Parian Oeste, Bauang, La Union, on March 22, 2021, in celebration of the International Day of Forests and World Water Day. Gov. Pacoy underscored the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU)’s strengthened environmental governance initiatives, through its #KalikasanNaman campaign. Also in the activity were Board Member Nancy Corazon Bacurnay, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 1 officers, PGLU-Environment and Natural Resources Office led by OIC Annalyn R. Valdez, Bauang Police Station Personnel, LGU Bauang officers, and Brgy. Parian Oeste Officials.

Visitor Information and Travel Assistance System (Tara Na! VISITA) on March 19, 2021 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

The system will be used to keep track of visitor’s activities in the province and ensure that CoViD-19 safety protocols are followed within the specified area.

PGLU Joins 2021 National Women’s Month Celebration

Highlighting gender equality and empowerment of women as advocates of change, the Provincial Government of La Union joins the 2021 National Women’s Month Celebration from March 1-31, 2021. The Provincial Welfare and Development Office will be conducting a webinar for women with disability on March 29, 2021 while also conducting online advocacy campaigns through women’s groups. Implementing the Magna Carta of Women, this year’s National Women’s Month’s theme is β€œWe Make Change Work for Women: Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya!”
