PGLU pushes for a Strong Partnership for Goals in the Executive-Legislative Agenda

In line with the vision of the Province to become the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) kick started the formulation of the Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) for CY 2023-2025 through the conduct of the Part 1 of the ELA Process, which is the Kick-off cum Partnership for Goals on September 01, 2022 via zoom. The activity was actively participated by the elected provincial officials, PGLU department heads, representatives from the National Government Agencies as well as sectoral leaders and representatives of Civil Society Organizations to ensure that optimal plans are developed and implemented for the improvement of the quality of life of our kaprobinsiaans.

In celebration of the 122nd Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service (PCS) and as part of Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David’s P.U.S.O. Agenda which seeks to promote a People-centered and Driven Governance, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) launched its month-long PCS activities on September 1, 2022 through the 2022 PGLU Olympics.

The ordinance sponsored by Board Member Joy R. Ortega “REQUIRING ALL PUBLIC AND PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN THE PROVINCE OF LA UNION TO ALLOW ALL OF THEIR GRADUATING STUDENTS, TO MARCH DURING THE GRADUATION CEREMONIES, ALONGSIDE THEIR BATCH MATES REGARDLESS OF UNPAID FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS” is now submitted for first reading. The crafting of the said ordinance is in response to the issue of Mr. John Rosaldo that circulated on social media after he and some of his batchmates were disallowed to march on stage due to unprocessed and unpaid graduation fees, which led to a traumatic experience for Mr. Rosaldo and his family.

Empowering public information for informed citizenry and participative governance, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Provincial Information Office spearheaded the re-organization of the Information Officers of La Union Guild participated in by Information Officers (IOs) and IO Designates of component local government units (LGUs) on August 26, 2022 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
