DMMMSU-SLUC Debate Teams Excel in International Championship, LU SP Passes Congratulatory Resolution

The debate teams from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – South La Union Campus (DMMMSU-SLUC) showcased their brilliance at the iDebate – Speak up & Make an Impact International Debate Championship – Season 2. Outperforming participants from various countries, one of the three DMMMSU-SLUC teams emerged as the champions. This outstanding achievement led to the passing of congratulatory resolutions by the 23rd Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP), acknowledging their remarkable performance.

PGLU, NCCA Takes Step for La Union Cultural Preservation; Train Local Cultural Mappers

In celebration of the Philippine Heritage Month 2023, the Provincial Government of La Union through the La Union Provincial Tourism Office – Culture and the Arts Unit, in collaboration with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), conducted the Training of a Local Team as third Cultural Mapping Phase for all the Local Government Units (LGUs) in the province on May 8 – 12, 2023 at J&V Resort and Hotel Events Hall, Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.

LU DRRM Officers, Practitioners Braced for RDANA Updates

In order to provide Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) officers and practitioners with necessary knowledge and skills in conducting immediate assessment on possible damages, losses and needs of the community in times of a disaster or eventualities, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) partnered with the Office of Civil Defense Region 1 as they conducted a four-day training on Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) for the Province of La Union on May 9-12, 2023 at the La Union Peace, Order and Safety-Emergency Operation Center, City of San Fernando, La Union.

PGLU Personnel, Emergency Response Agencies Take Earthquake, Landslide Search, Rescue Orientation Course

In its continued efforts to strengthen Disaster and Emergency Management in the province, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Provincial Health Office conducted the second leg of the Earthquake Preparedness and Landslide Search and Rescue Orientation Course (ELSAROC) for PGLU Safety Officers, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Training and Operations personnel and Philippine Air Force (PAF) officers on May 9-11, 2023 at the Home of Hope Building in Sevilla, City of San Fernando, La Union.
